You will probably note that the top of all Cravery pot pies are vented and that our fillings sometimes erupt though these vents (sometimes, unfortunately, through the sides of the pie too). That's because we fully bake each and every pot pie. It's why unlike other pot pies, ours can be sold in your grocer's refrigerated deli section as well as the freezer case. Unfortunately, most other pot pie makers don't fully bake their pies before freezing them as we do. They rely on you to cook them thoroughly. After all, baking is an extra and expensive step. A step, we feel is important to take. Fully pre-baking Cravery pot pies before flash-freezing is a testament to our commitment to food safety. Fully cooking any pot pie to a minimum temperature of 165 F, is essential. At that temperature, food borne bacteria is killed. Even though we trust that you will also cook them thoroughly we wanted to be double sure.
